I served my time as a marine plumber/pipe-fitter and spent many years in the commercial industrial market, including pipe-fitting, welding, metal fabrication, building services and maintenance.
I have spent the past 24 years in the liquified petrolium gas industry working for a major supplier where I have been responsible for supervising engineers and sub-contractors in the supply of gas services to domestic, industrial, commercial and agricultural clients.
All my experience means that I am very comfortable dealing with customers both domestic and corporate, and can easily explain problems and recommend solutions to a wide audience.
I have always used the skills gained from my professional life to allow me to undertake a wide range of jobs in my own home and also for friends and family. I am seen as a "go to person" .
I am focused on the environment, and am a keen recycler.
I am a very energetic person and enjoy a wide and varied range of activities. I am a member of the Scout Association AESL (Assistant Explorer Scout Leader) and also run a bushcraft school for Hampshire Explorer Scouts. I also coach canoeing and kayaking for a local club. As part of these activities I am regularly CRB ( Criminal Records Bureau ) checked and hold first aid certification. I also enjoy sport-climbing, running and cycling amongst other activities.
Last year I undertook a charitable event with my
charity group and raised
nearly three thousand pounds
for Wessex Heartbeat.
For 2010 I am running the Great South Run, also in aid of Wessex Heartbeat, a charity close to my heart!
