Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book an appointment?

Either ring me or drop me an email and we can arrange a mutually agreeable time to meet.

Can I get a quotation for a job?

Yes you can, I will provide a free of charge no obligation quotation along with terms and conditions.

How do you charge?

I will charge as per the agreed quotation.

How do I pay?

Cash or cheque, payment should be cleared within 21 days of completion of work.

How do I know you'll do a good job?

I take pride in my work and only take on work when I know I have the skills and experience to do them. Please look at my testimonials page to see some comments and photos of previous work undertaken.

What if you come across an issue during work which could change the job?

This can happen sometimes, for instance when lifting floorboards we could find a rotten or damaged floor joist. Before carrying out any further work that would involve additional cost, I will explain the situation to you, make my recommendations and provide an updated quote. You can be confident that no additional cost will be incurred without your prior approval.

Do you supply all materials for jobs?

I'm happy to use materials you provide as long as they are suitable for the job, however I can provide the materials myself through my suppliers where I obtain favourable prices which is reflected in my quotation.

Do I need to wait in all day?

No, I will always agree a convenient time, and should there be any problem or delay I will always ensure I call ahead to keep you informed.

Are you a tidy worker?

Yes, I always clean up after myself, and use dust sheets and also my own vacuum cleaner to ensure the work area is left tidy. If moving from outdoors to inside the house I will always remove my boots or will use boot covers and also dust sheets. I will remove all rubbish and dispose of it in an Eco-friendly manner at a recycling centre.

Can you look at central heating?

Yes, I have a lot of experience of plumbing and have worked in the gas industry for over twenty years. However, I am not Gas-Safe registered (CORGI), so I'm happy to move/remove radiators and look at "wet systems" and can recommend reliable heating engineers when necessary.

Are you insured?

Yes, I have public liability insurance for 10 million.

Are you able to do regular maintenance, such as hedge trimming?

Yes, I'm very happy to discuss this and we can agree a regular maintenance schedule.
